Erdogan: Europe contemplates getting gas from Turkish hub
ANKARA, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- Europe is considering options of supplies in case Turkey becomes a gas hub, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday.
"They surely cannot receive natural gas from Russia when and how they want from now on. What are their expectations? They think whether, if Turkey becomes the center of this hub, their need for natural gas will be satisfied from Turkey… We will make estimates and evaluate the developing process and will take steps," Erdogan said.
The president said on Wednesday that he agreed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on establishment of a gas hub in Turkey that would distribute gas to Europe.
Erdogan also said that his counterpart in Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has a positive view on the volume of Europe's demand for gas to be delivered through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
The Turkish president also said that he sees no obstacles for prolongation of the grain deal, which is to expire on November 19.
